Leslie Claire Walker grew up among the darkly magical lush bayous in the urban jungle of the Texas Gulf Coast — otherwise known as Houston — where she lives with assorted animal and plant companions, and two harps.

Her short fiction has appeared in Writers of the Future, Volume XVI, Andromeda Spaceways Inflight Magazine, City Slab, the DAW Books anthologies Hags, Sirens and Other Bad Girls of Fantasy and Cosmic Cocktails, Fantasy Magazine, and Chiaroscuro

She has just completed a young adult fantasy, HUNT, about 16 year old Kevin who develops a sudden ability to hear others' thoughts when immiment mortal danger threatens.

With the awakening of this unwanted gift, Kevin comes to the attention of the Faery King, who believes he is the long-awaited ambassador between the fae and human worlds — and that he has the ability to keep magic alive among humans.  Kevin doesn’t want any part of that, but that doesn’t stop the fae from wreaking havoc with his family and the girl he really, really wants to date.

To save his father’s life, his friends’ lives, and his own, Kevin will have to survive a ride with the legendary Wild Hunt on Halloween night and coax tears not shed in a thousand years from the Faery King’s eye.
